When it comes to tradition, what do you think of?
Clture? Morality passed down from history? Ancient costumes,? Or a traditional craft?
Would tradition only be placed in the museum for people to watch from a distance beacause it`s impossible to for tradition to keep up with the pace of modern society?
The answer is no .
However, what kind of inspiration can we get from the study of traditional crafts to promote modern life?

What is the relationship between traditional crafts and our modern life?
Sea World Culture and Arts Center will join hands with Taiwanese young designer Cheng-Tsung Feng to take bamboo craft as an entry point and invite everyone to conduct an in-depth discussion of traditional crafts.
In the lecture, Cheng-Tsung Feng will share his own craft design creation and encouraged everyone to throw away the way of “design with guessing”. Learn to understand the value of design before designing and to think about the value of design in a larger time span.

Fan Chengzong graduated from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. He specialized in bamboo craft design, industrial product design, visual communication design. He is fascinated by the tradition of artifacts and the wisdom of it, therefore he began to strive to inherit the spirit of these design, and his most eye-catching talent is to combine bamboo with traditional craftsmanship to produce a variety of works of art. In 2015, his established his studio and received IF, Red Dot, IDEA and other international design awards.
